qx.Mobile showcase: Maps

New qx.Mobile Showcase “Maps”

There is a new page in qx.Mobile Showcase: “Maps“. It shows how to integrate an OpenStreetMap into a qx.Mobile app, with the help of the JavaScript library OpenLayers. Additionally, you can display your current location on the map by using the qx.bom.Geolocation class. The Maps showcase also features the new NavigationPage boolean property named “navigationBarHidden“. This property makes it possible to display the page in fullscreen mode.

Tool Chain

We’ve added an experimental Json module to the tool chain, demjson, as it directly supports comments in Json files. Along with it comes a nice jsonlint program that helps debug Json files. qooxdoo’s tool/bin directory contains a shell wrapper to call it (jsonlint.sh). So if you find yourself struggling with config file syntax give it a spin.

  1. Nice mobile maps with OSM! Done something similar with jQuery Mobile and now exploring the possibilities with qooxdoo. Source code location? Sorry to ask, new to qooxdoo and your blog/site. Thanks!

  2. Okay, I found it in the mobileshowcase devel source area. Guess I should just look around a bit more first. It was just neat to see and thought I’d just ask.
